Environmental, Health and Safety standards regulatory compliance, practices and reporting have become a highlighted company administrative requirement in the past two decades. Mexico’s EHS related standard & regulations, reporting requirements and administration systems procedures have all increased in range and complexity in par with those of the US, Canada and the European Common Market.

Although basic principles are similar in most countries, the nuances implicit in local standards and reporting requirements make mandatory compliance a challenge for companies that do not have dedicated specialized resources to handle these activities.

DIMSA has EHS experts that assist our customers in outlining specific mandatory requirements based on each company’s particularities, implementing policies and procedures to assure operational compliance, and executes required preoperational and ongoing reporting.

Preoperational Phase:

EHS compliance liabilities originate in the preoperational phase of a
project, where land use (zoning), EIAs, STPS and SAA standards
compliance audits and other mandatory requirements are subject to random
inspection and audits by various government agencies, all of whom have
the potential power of temporarily stopping a plant operation until
compliance requirements are met.

DIMSA specialists review all pertinent project variables and define
required permitting and registration requirements, as well as coordinate
and execute these filing requirements in order to assure full
compliance conformity. In the TI design phase, these specialists also
intervene with the A&E designers to assure facility compliance from
both Environmental as well as Health & Safety standards.

Development of EHS policies and procedures in conformance with minimum
legal requirements as well as industry best practices are also deployed
in this phase, including:

  • Define type of industry Activity Categorization based on EHS regulatory principles.
